Pauway Story:Power Plant In Ecuador
Ecuador Posorja Multi-Functional Port
3*PWC2250HV-60CL+
As a key project for Pauway Energy in the South American port energy market, it focuses on the stable and reliable power supply needs of Posorja Port, especially the reverse power generated by port crane hoisting. With 3 PWC2250HV-60CL+ generators as the core and 1 roadbank as auxiliary, it provides main and emergency power for the port and absorbs reverse power, serving as a demonstration of China-Ecuador port energy cooperation.
Project Background & Contract Award
Posorja Multi-Functional Port in Ecuador is a key logistics hub currently under expansion. It has high requirements for power stability, especially for absorbing reverse power from crane hoisting to avoid equipment risks. Due to the imperfect local power grid, the port needs reliable independent power supply. Beijing Pauway Energy (implemented by Tianjin Pauway Power) won the project with mature technology and rich overseas experience, equipping 3 PWC2250HV-60CL+ generators and 1 roadbank to meet the port’s power needs.
Core Technology & Equipment Configuration
Generating Units, Roadbank & Core Technology
The project adopts 3 high-performance PWC2250HV-60CL+ diesel generators with stable operation and quick start-up, providing stable power for daily port operations. The supporting roadbank is specially used to absorb reverse power from crane hoisting, avoiding impacts on the power system and ensuring equipment service life. The whole system is equipped with an intelligent control module for real-time monitoring and fault early warning.
Project Positioning
A dedicated power plant for Posorja Port, integrating stable power supply and reverse power absorption. It undertakes daily and emergency power supply, and focuses on solving the reverse power problem of cranes. The equipment has undergone anti-corrosion, moisture-proof and heat-dissipation treatment to adapt to the local tropical coastal climate.
Delivery & Operation Schedule
The project complies with local standards, adopting modular equipment for convenient transportation and installation. At present, all equipment has been delivered, installed and commissioned, officially put into operation to provide stable power support for the port and effectively solve the reverse power problem.
Project Significance & Challenges
Industry & Cooperation Value
It fills Pauway Energy’s gap in South American port power plants with reverse power absorption function, expands the influence of Chinese power equipment in Ecuador, and provides reliable power guarantee for the port’s expansion, promoting local logistics and trade development.
Geopolitical & Market Value
It deepens China-Ecuador energy cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, accumulates experience for Pauway Energy in South American port projects, and provides reference for Chinese enterprises to enter the regional market.
Execution Challenges
It overcomes technical difficulties such as equipment adaptation to tropical coastal climate, solves the matching problem between roadbank and generators, coordinates local norms, and overcomes logistics difficulties to ensure project delivery on schedule.
