PAUWAY delivered a total of 2 units of PWY series diesel generator sets to remote mountain communities and hydropower-complement facilities in Tajikistan, covering a power range from 200KW to 500KW at 50Hz. These units provide backup and peak-shaving power for high-altitude villages in the Pamir and Fann ranges, as well as supplementary power for small hydropower stations during low-water seasonal periods, where Tajikistan’s rugged mountain terrain and winter grid stress leave many areas power-deficient.

Tajikistan is the most mountainous country in Central Asia, with over 90% of its territory above 1,000 meters. While the country is rich in hydropower potential, much of the rural population lives in remote valleys disconnected from the national grid, and even grid-connected areas suffer winter power shortages when river flows drop and heating demand peaks. PAUWAY’s PWY series, powered by Yuchai engines and engineered with cold-weather packages, provides the high-altitude reliability and adaptability needed for Tajikistan’s extreme mountain operating conditions.

Mountain community units feature insulated containerized enclosures with winterization packages including engine block heaters and battery warmers for sub-zero operation. Hydropower-complement units are configured for rapid start black-start capability, enabling them to restart local mini-hydro stations after grid collapse and provide peak-shaving support during low-water periods.
