Power Supply Project for Hydropower Station in Laos
Power Supply Project for Hydropower Station in Laos
PAUWAY supplied a total of 3 units of PWY1100S diesel generator sets for a hydropower station project in Laos, serving as critical emergency standby power to safeguard the safe operation of flood control gates, central control systems and auxiliary production equipment.
Project Background & Tender Award
Hydropower stations are equipped with a large number of core safety facilities including gate hydraulic control systems, real-time flood monitoring instruments and emergency lighting. Once the main grid loses power, it will pose serious hidden dangers to dam safety and flood discharge control. Reliable backup generator sets are essential safety barriers for normal operation of the whole station.
Core Technology & Equipment Configuration
Generating Units
The project is equipped with 3 sets of PWY1100S diesel generator sets developed by PAUWAY Energy. The three units can operate in parallel or standby for each other, featuring stable output and fast startup response to fully cover all safety critical loads of the hydropower station.
Project Positioning
Multi-unit mutual standby emergency power system for hydropower station, providing uninterrupted power supply for dam safety control, flood monitoring and emergency protection equipment when municipal power fails.
Equipment Features
- Three units support parallel operation and mutual backup, greatly improving power supply reliability
- Ultra-fast automatic startup, realizing seamless switching for critical safety loads
- Moisture-proof and anti-corrosion optimized design, suitable for humid riverside tropical environment in Laos
Project Significance & Challenges
Project Value
The three high-reliability generator sets build a complete safety power guarantee system for the hydropower station, effectively eliminating safety risks caused by sudden power failure and ensuring stable operation of the water conservancy project.
Execution Challenges
Completed cross-border land transportation to Laos, finished parallel control joint debugging with the hydropower central control system, and adjusted unit operating parameters to adapt to local high-humidity working conditions.
